Hello my darlings! Do you want to see an entire auction filled with jewels that will make you smile? I hope so, because that’s today’s agenda.
Colorful Whimsy: Jewels by Michele della Valle opens today at Christie’s and runs through March 17th. The sale includes 65(!!) vivid, beautiful, delightful pieces by this fantastic designer.

I first discovered Michele della Valle’s work when I was a little baby blogger browsing auction websites from the cubicle of my day job in 2012 and I’ve been a fan of his delightful designs ever since.
The artist is known for his whimsical visions and vibrant use of gemstones and every single piece in this sale delivers. I could feel my spirits lifting with each lot I browsed.

This post is going to be light on words and heavy on pictures. Let’s dive in!

Lot 32 is these incredible lemon earrings, which actually caught my eye on IG before I knew this sale was even happening! If you look closely, you’ll see the lemons are articulated so they should move gently when worn.
These Michele della Valle lemon earrings feature round yellow sapphires, tsavorite garnets and round diamonds in 18k white gold. See these beauties on an ear here.

Oh hello, Lot 11. This beauty is a tanzanite ring featuring a glorious 17.19 carat cabochon tanzanite surrounded by juicy round cabochon rubies, round diamonds, and 18k white and yellow gold.
The settings of the round diamonds make them look like stars to me. It’s a lovely touch on a gorgeous and very tactile ring. I want to touch it.

Lot 4 is these extraordinarily pretty floral earrings. Those breathtaking pink tops are carved pink opal, set in 18K rose gold with cabochon tourmaline and diamonds.

This is lot 63. I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite lot in the sale, although I also have a strong weakness for the lemon earrings. I didn’t know that I wanted to see an all-green floral brooch but now that it’s in front of me, it feels perfect.
This floral brooch by Michele della Valle is set with emeralds and cabochon tourmaline in 18K yellow gold.

Lot 64 is these fantastic earrings. Look at the way this designs uses stones of various sizes to perfectly fill the gradually increasing length of each protruding leg of the shape. It’s exquisite.
These Michele della Valle earrings feature buff-top amethyst and two round emerald cabochons in 18k rose gold.

Lot 10 is this wonderfully gemmy heart pendant. This beauty’s stones have vibes of classic Art Deco Tutti Fruitti jewelry, but used in a different way than one would expect in the classic 20’s style.
This heart pendant by Michele della Valle features carved emerald beads, sapphire cabochons, ruby beads, and diamonds in 18k yellow gold.

This extremely glamorous necklace is Lot 26. It’s a slight departure from what I think of as the classic Michele della Valle style, since it’s not a figurative motif, but it’s beautiful all the same. I love the drama of accenting the rich purple amethyst hue with black enamel.
This Michele della Valle necklace features amethyst, round cabochon rubies, black enamel, and 18k yellow gold.

Lot 27 is this wonderfully exuberant flower pendant that looks like a captured carpet of daisies.
This lovely Michele della Valle design features bright yellow sapphire and diamond flowers.

Lot 61 is a little different stylistically, taking Michele della Valle bold figural aesthetic in a different direction.
This brooch shows a New York City scene, with the NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The pieces uses titanium and copper and is accented with diamonds, sapphires, and gold.

Lot 52 is these fantastic cherry earrings, which have a similar vibe to the lemon earrings up top. They’re so cute!
These Michele della Valle earrings feature red agate beads as the cherries, with diamonds and garnets in 18k white gold.

There are 65 gorgeous lots in the Michele della Valle sale, so if you loved seeing these, don’t forget to hop on over to Christie’s to see the rest. The sale runs through March 17, so don’t delay if you’re eyeing something you want to bid on!
What do you think of these cheerful Michele della Valle jewels, my dears? Do they float your boat? Which is your favorite?
